Mr. Ted Casablanca

Before I start this piece, dedicated to one of my biggest inspirations, I’d like to start with an apology to those of you who have been coming here looking for Meet the Candy Candidates and other Man Candy related things. I know I haven’t done a new Man Candy Monday post in quite some time and some of you are a little disappointed in me. Honestly, I’m a little disappointed in myself. Truth is, I’ve just been busy. Man Candy Monday is a very time consuming venture and due to some major personal life drama, I just haven’t had the time to get to it. From an infestation of wasps to my mother’s impending move, I’ve just had a lot on my plate and sadly, Man Candy has suffered for it. I promise I will be back just as soon as time allows. Our first new profile will be on James Marsden and I sincerely hope to have that up soon. Okay, on to the topic of today’s post.

Ted Casablanca has decided to step away from The Awful Truth and I have to admit I’m pretty torn up about that. Ted’s column on E! Online has long been one of my very favorite guilty pleasures and I will sincerely miss his wit and his wickedness. I cannot aptly describe the joy and giddiness I felt when Mr. Casablanca chose to answer my questions in his Bitch Back feature. I also cannot express how sad I am that I won’t have that opportunity again.

While Ted’s Blind Vices were really what drew many people to his column, it is really Ted’s distinctive writing style that kept me reading. I’m quite certain I guessed many of his Blind Vices long ago but it was still entertaining to read the next chapter in the Toothy Tile Saga. To think I will never know the real names behind the monikers I have came to know so well makes me feel like I’ve reached the end of a wildly fascinating novel only to learn someone has ripped out the last chapter. I only hope that no matter where Ted goes from here, he continues to share his writing with the world because without his words, life feels so much less delicious.

We’ll miss you, Ted. Keep in touch, yes?
