So the other day we met American Idol’s top 13 contestants for season 11 and to be honest, I don’t really have a horse in this race yet. There are a lot of really strong contestants. I’m partial to Phillip Phillips, DeAndre Brackensick and Colton Dixon for the boys and Skylar Laine, Jessica Sanchez, Hollie Cavanagh and Elise Testone for the girls but everyone is really still establishing themselves. Tonight’s episode – American Idol’s 400^th (!) episode – really attempted to force the contestants to step up their game challenging the girls to take on songs by Whitney Houston and the boys to take on songs by Stevie Wonder. Some contestants rose to the occasion and exceeded expectations. Some didn’t. Let’s take a look.
